The Cask
A one-person cold plunge made from a reclaimed oak whisky barrel, with a built-in seat and a lid crafted from the barrel's own top.
Final package pricing to confirm
The Cask is a one-person cold plunge made from a reclaimed oak whisky barrel, finished with steel hoops and a lid crafted from the barrel's own top. Inside, a built-in seat lets you settle into 450 litres of cold mains water, with ice to take it lower when you want it. There is nothing to plug in and nothing to service, and through the colder months the weather does much of the work. Change the water weekly with daily use by one, or every three to four days if it's shared. A simple, characterful ritual, at any time of year.
Nothing is final. James confirms the product, access, base and specification before any money changes hands.

Good to know
Questions people ask
The things worth knowing before you decide. Anything else, James is happy to talk through.
Does it need electricity?
No. It fills from your cold mains water and needs no power at all. Add ice if you want it colder; there's nothing to plug in, wire up or service.
How long does it take to heat up?
As cold as your mains water and the weather allow, with ice to take it lower. Through autumn and winter the British weather does much of the work, and many find that's when the plunge feels most alive. It can stay out and in use all year round.
What base does it need?
A firm, level base at least 1 metre across, able to take its filled weight of around 545 kg. Gravel, stone chippings or paving slabs are ideal; soil and lawn are not. There's no need for concrete.
Will it fit through to my garden?
It arrives ready to use, and we fit the release tap on site. At around 1 metre across at its widest and 1.1 metres tall, it needs a clear route at least 1.1 metres wide, and James will check that with you before delivery. Some barrels weep a little for the first three to five days while the oak swells; many arrive with no weeping at all.
What warranty does it come with?
One year, provided the tub is cared for as we advise, including regular water changes. Terms are confirmed in writing alongside your order, so you know exactly what is covered before you commit.
